Master Meter required the advanced Dialogs approval system that tracks edits made on a shadow, non-public website and allows only select administrators to approve content for publication on the "live" website. Master Meter distributes content maintenance between editors in the US and Canada. All content is approved by a central editor.

Flash and Rich Media

Bean counters no longer frown on Flash and other rich media.

Master Meter publishes a Flash-based, CD-ROM catalog with rich content about their product lines and comprensive product documentation. Product details do change, however, so on launch, the CD-ROM application communicates with Dialogs for up-to-the-minute changes and additions to product data. Flash movies are used in several areas of the site as informational embellishments.

Global Accessibility

Business on the internet is better when no one is left out.

MasterMeter.com site content is is US-English, Canadian French and Canadian English (metric units). Dialogs multi-language features make maintaining content managable by enabling French translators to easily see the base language content as they enter/edit foreign language content.

Data Applications

Data integration and custom applications made easy.

Master Meter commissioned a custom lead-tracking system to enable the sales manager to direct incoming leads to field representatives or distributors as appropriate. Dialogs monitors the status of leads, enabling the sales manager to identify and manage aging leads. Product content is kept fresh on the website and automatically feeds CD-ROM catalogs in the field by XML.

Here is a recipe for disaster for most website development systems: take a catalog of hundreds of complex products, add spec sheets for every product, and then display that content with a choice of three languages. Not a problem in Dialogs. This site also manages an ever-changing distributor network and provides a document management tool for Master Meter and their sales network.
