Dialogs Framework Server Requirements

Dialogs Framework can run in most LAMP (Linux/Apache/MySQL/PHP) environments. The Dialogs Framework installer detects subtle differences in hosting environments and makes many adjustments automatically. Additional adjustments by someone familiar with Linux and PHP may be necessary in some instances. In a dedicated host/VPS installation, the recommended versions (below) of LAMP components should be installed. For simple, brochure websites, Dialogs works fine in a shared hosting environment under control panels such as Ensim, Plesk, and C-Panel (some environments may require configuration adjustments). Dialogs Framework is a state-of-the art, web 2.0 application that may not run effectively on servers at commodity web hosting providers.

Recommended Environment

  • CentOS Linux Operating System version 5 (other Linux distros work with path adjustments)
  • Apache 2.4
  • MySQL version 5.5
  • PHP version 5.4 (with FTP, CURL, mcrypt and GD support)
  • SFTP access

Minimum Environment

  • Linux
  • Apache 2.0
  • MySQL version 5.1 or later
  • PHP version 5.3 or later with FTP support

Tested Compatibility

  • Server Virtualization (AWS, VMWare, Xen)
  • Linux Security components (mod_Security, SUHOSIN)

Experimental

  • WAMP (Dialogs' clients have installed Dialogs on Windows with Apache, MySQL and PHP; the environemnt appears stable with good performance)
