Smart SaaS Tech Roadmap

Smart SaaS Tech Roadmap

June 5, 2025 Jose Garrido

Are you burning cash on tech you don’t need? Here’s the roadmap to avoid it.

Every SaaS founder dreams of scaling fast but most waste precious capital on technology that’s overkill for their stage. After 30 years in the trenches (and successfully helping companies achieve their exits), here’s the truth: you don't have someone guiding you through the 5 stages of SaaS startups.

POC (Proof of Concept): Keep it scrappy. Use no-code tools, spreadsheets and basic automation. Don’t even think about custom builds, scaling or enterprise features yet. Your only goal: prove someone cares about your idea.

MVP (Minimum Viable Product): Now, build just enough. Pick frameworks and platforms that let you iterate fast. Avoid “enterprise” anything. Focus on features that drive retention and validate your core value.

Scale: You’re gaining traction, now it's time to invest in robust infrastructure. Think cloud services, automated testing and analytics. But beware: don’t over-engineer. Only upgrade what’s breaking.

Stabilize: After scaling is then the Tech Debt train hits you. Now’s the time to refactor, lock down security and get serious about compliance. Optimize for reliability, not just speed.

Exit: Investors want clean, optimized, scalable systems. Audit your stack, document everything, and streamline ops. This is where the right tech partner pays off, don’t do it alone.

Conquer Your Startup Mountain

Scaling a startup is like climbing a mountain: exhilarating, treacherous, and full of surprises.

Fail Less & Learn More

What if I told you that most MVPs fail, not because they’re too simple, but because they’re too ambitious? Too many features, too much money burned, and suddenly there’s no runway left to adapt when the market gives you real feedback.

Winning at SaaS: Feedback First

Driving user retention requires listening to users, not just building features.

The best part is NO part

June 16, 2025 Jose Garrido
When you’re developing a new SaaS product, it’s tempting to chase after every feature idea that pops into your mind. After all, more features mean more value for your users, right? Not quite.

When you’re ready, we’re ready.
